Foie Gras

There is a French law which states:

"Foie gras belongs to the protected cultural and gastronomical heritage of France".

What is foie gras?
Why do you think there is a law about it?
How is it made?
Why is there controversy surrounding foie gras?
Is the controversy similar to controversy around a different practice in New Zealand?

1 comment:

  1. Foie Gras is duck liver?
And the controversy surrounding it is that some factory's are force feeding the ducks to speed up the process. This is now illegal in most country's including france. What is legal is feeding them naturally and not forcing a tube down their throat.
